An e-based system that can be used by women on their mobile phones (smartphones and basic phones) to report cases of violence to the authorities. The system uses this data to generate reports in form of graphical statistics and maps. The reports generated by the system are aimed to support policy makers and all relevant institutions in their efforts to combat and prevent violence against women, by providing them with reliable and comparable data and information for effective, evidence based decisions and policy improvement.
This system would also provide women with information about victim blaming and women’s rights. It would supply peer support for people going through similar situations as well as mentorship so women know how they should be treated. Additionally, this system and the community support through it, would encourage women to seek justice and speak to the local authorities.
Lastly, a supplementary website and media campaign would supply information to the public about victim blaming and how to prevent it.
